History-Social Science works with all grade levels, K - 12 in improving student achievement through history and the social sciences. Your OCDE History-Social Science coordinator serves as a liaison to a wide variety of social studies-related associations including California Council for the Social Studies and its local affiliate, the Orange County Area Social Science Association. Additional support activities include professional development opportunities sponsored throughout the year by the OCDE, the Orange County History-Social Science Project housed at UCI, and the International Studies Project housed at CSUF, and others.  Literacy, critical thinking, and preparation for participation in a democratic society guide OCDE History-Social Science support efforts.
